Progress Report for Week of July 18th

   As I write this blog post, I’m at 38,387 words of my book. I wrote 8,207 words since last week’s progress report.  My goal is to write 2,000 words every day Monday through Saturday. Last week, I averaged 1,368 per day so I need to step it up in my fiction writing. I’m a disappointed but life gets in the way of writing some times. 🙂 But no excuses! I need to focus more on my writing time. Minimize distractions and focus on my writing.

I’m going to really need to get in gear if I’m going to meet my self-imposed deadline of August 9th to finish my first draft. My hat goes off to those writers working on strict deadlines form publishers. I need to put on my self publisher hat and kick my writer’s ass to meet my daily wiring goal of 2,000 words and to complete the first draft of the manuscript in 15 days.
